Localizers Left Seething at the Use of AI Translation

English localizers were left seething at the use of AI to translate subtitles for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan, a move that is being praised by weebs who have become increasingly frustrated by agenda driven localizations in recent years. The loudest criticism has come from controversial Japanese-to-English localizer Katrina Leonoudakis, a localizer known for injecting her radical political views into the localizations she’s involved with. “This is… one of the strangest localization decisions I’ve seen in a long time,” most likely referring to the lack of references to radical feminism, the LGBTP movement, or trans rights. Leonoudakis also insisted, “we need to educate companies on what good localization looks like.” While certainly the most vocal, Leonoudakis was not alone in her criticism. Pronoun fags on X are concern trolling, with statements such as “voice actors are STRUGGLING!” and “I feel so bad for them.” On the other hand, weebs seem to be more accepting of the decision to use AI.
